Production buildings for milk powder and lactose production
The masterplan drawn up by the engineers KSI for the MILEI facility in Leutkirch includes new production lines for milk powder and lactose, which were realized in two phases. In the first phase, a tanker unloading hall, wet areas, silos, and filling and milk processing plants were constructed. The second phase involved the building of drying towers and storage areas.
The design of the production facilities paid special attention to energy efficiency. Heat recovery and flash steam cover a large part of the energy demand. Two thermal layer storage elements absorb this recovered heat and feed it back into the production process as required. As a result, the energy concept of the overall plant meets the highest technical standards.
